What will I Learn?
As part of the arts college initiative we can provide facilities and expertise for a wide variety of media. As always we want the course to be enjoyable and satisfying for every student. The exam must have visual outcomes but these can be expressed in many ways including - drawing, painting, photography, graphic design, 3D/Sculpture, prints, computer imaging and illustration as appropriate to the project and the student.
How will I be Assessed
Coursework carries 60% of the marks and is presented in units each consisting of research, notes, sketches, experiments, photographs, drawings, comments and personal ideas which are developed into finished pieces. You will look at the work of artists and designers from various cultures. Visits to Galleries, Museums and Exhibitions are offered and encouraged to support this element of the syllabus. The test piece carries 40% of the marks and follows 4 weeks preparation of a theme which is developed into finished artwork during timed test sessions.
