What will I Learn?
This course is designed to be fun and can include fashion through the design and making of garments and accessories, as well as furnishing products. By its nature it encourages you to be experimental and relish creating something new.
How will I be Assessed
Coursework carries 60% of the marks and is presented in units each consisting of research, notes, sketches, experiments, photographs, drawings, comments and seasonal ideas which are developed into finished pieces. (You will look at the work of artist and designers from various cultures. Visits to Galleries, Museums and Exhibitions are offered and encouraged to support this element of the syllabus). The test piece carries 40% of the marks and follows 4 weeks preparation of a theme which is developed into finished artwork during timed test sessions.
